Who we are
SomoySathi (“we”, “us”) is a reminder assistant that works inside WhatsApp, operated from Bangladesh. This policy explains what information we collect when you use SomoySathi on WhatsApp or visit somoysathi.com, how we use it, and how we protect it.
What we collect
When you message SomoySathi, WhatsApp shares your phone number and profile name with us. We store the messages, voice notes, photos and files you send, and the reminders and notes created from them. We also keep basic technical data such as message times and delivery status. If you ask us to remind a family member (a feature that is coming soon), we store their WhatsApp number only to send them those reminders.
How we use it
We use your information only to run SomoySathi: to understand your requests (including turning voice notes into text), to schedule and send your reminders, to store and return what you saved, to answer your support questions, and to keep the service secure and prevent abuse. We do not use your information for advertising, and we never sell it.
AI and voice processing
To understand your text and voice notes, your messages are processed by trusted AI and speech-recognition providers working on our behalf. They may process your data only to provide this service to us, under contract, and may not use it to train their own models.
Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers we need to operate SomoySathi: Meta, to deliver messages through the WhatsApp Business Platform; our cloud hosting and AI providers; and, once paid plans start, the payment provider you choose (bKash or Nagad). Payment providers handle your payment directly; we never see your PIN or wallet password. We may also disclose information if Bangladeshi law requires it.
How we protect it
Your data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS and encrypted at rest on our servers. Access is limited to the people who need it to run and support the service.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while you use SomoySathi. You can ask us to delete your data at any time by emailing [email protected] or messaging us on WhatsApp. We will delete it within 30 days, unless the law requires us to keep some of it for longer.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete your information at any time. You can stop using SomoySathi whenever you like by no longer messaging us or by blocking the number.
This website
somoysathi.com may use Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel to count visits and measure our ads. These tools use cookies and similar technologies. They do not receive your WhatsApp messages.
Children
SomoySathi is not intended for children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we make important changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and let active users know on WhatsApp.
